Picacho Arts Fest — August 29 | 6:00–10:00 PM
The next night, we’re partnering with J.C. Tortas and local artists, businesses, organizers, dancers, skaters, DJs, and entrepreneurs for a community celebration on Picacho. Expect live art, music, vinyl, dancing, skating, a photo booth, local vendors, free ice cream and water, and more. Youth entrepreneur vendor spaces are FREE (please reply to this email to reserve a space).

Join Ranger Mike and help us harvest the chile and vegetables from our very own foodways garden, learn the process of roasting chile, making your own delicious salsa/chile sauces, and canning. This year’s foodways garden is focused on indigenous agriculture, specifically, corn, squash, and beans known as the Three Sisters. The chile garden tells the story of New Mexican agriculture. Patio chats at the A.B. Cox Visitor Center & Native Plant Garden at Dripping Springs Natural Area. Come support our CCNM Interns as they deliver their first patio chats this month! "Local hummingbirds and how you can help them thrive in your own backyard" with Don. All programs are free to attend except $5/vehicle day-use for the site. Seating is limited. Birding Basics Class
Mesilla Valley Audubon Society will present a three-part class on Birding Basics on consecutive Tuesday evenings, September 1, 8, and 15, in the Creative Arts room of Las Cruces Village Senior Living. The class is free and is intended for those with little or no experience birding. Topics covered include bird identification, birding locations, recording and sharing observations, bird conservation, and meeting and learning from other birders.
