íChuchulucos! Hispanic Heritage Month Crafts-Mas !Piñatasmania! Join us for Mas !Piñatamania! A mini piñata workshop in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Craft a cardboard piñata in whatever shape you like, such as a sugar skull, taco, or the traditional burrito (donkey). Decorate with colorful strips of crepe paper. Stuff your finished piñata with Mexican candy as we burst open a piñata! At the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., at 2 p.m.
We’re proud to share some wonderful news about one of Las Cruces’ own. Adrián Aguirre has been named a recipient of the 2026 New Mexico Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts! He is the sixth individual artist from Las Cruces to receive this prestigious honor, which recognizes outstanding artistic achievement and contributions to New Mexico’s cultural life. The Mad Hatter Gallery will host a reception celebrating Adrián and this important recognition.

Las Cruces Space Festival White Sands Full Moon Night! At White Sands National Park Dunes Dr., from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Enjoy the radiance of the dunes beneath a full moon with live music, ranger programs, and special guest presenters and artists. Full Moon Nights share the cultural legacy of Southern New Mexico and Northern Mexico, as well as the rich natural resources of White Sands National Park. The park hours will be extended two hours from the park’s normal closing time on all Full Moon Nights for visitors to enjoy the full moon in the park on their own even when no program is scheduled.

The Mayor’s Bike Ride begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St. The route is about ten miles long and will end at the plaza. The route uses local streets and roadway bicycle lanes.
