Concert and Contra Dance in Hillsboro

Posted

The Hillsboro Community Center (HCC) is hosting a Contra Dance, featuring the Big Ditch Crickets from Silver City from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19.

A contra dance is a form of folk dancing made up of lines of couples, with origins from English and Scottish country dance. A contra dance event is a social dance that one can attend without a partner.

Don’t know how to Contra Dance?  Not to worry, as there will be an easy “how to” from the “Caller”.  Come to dance, come to listen, or come to see the combined flurry of activity as we learn something new.

The Hillsboro Community Center (HCC) is located at 316 Elenora Street, on the south hill overlooking the town. HCC concerts are supported by the community and sponsored by the Sierra County Arts Council (SCAC).  For upcoming events see  www.hccnm.org
