The Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Vegas McGraw and the Million Dollar McGraw Show on July 14 as part of its Summer Community Concert Series.
Vegas McGraw’s electrifying tribute to country music legend Tim McGraw has captivated fans for more than a decade with performances in 46 states, Australia, Mexico and Canada. Along with honoring Tim McGraw, Vegas McGraw brings to life the Million Dollar Quartet with a Vegas twist to the songs of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

As an award-winning tribute act, Vegas McGraw recently won Episode 3 of the TV show "Clash of the Cover Bands." Adam D. Tucker, known as Vegas McGraw throughout his career, has been the opening act for huge stars such as Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Reba McEntire and many more.
The free show will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave., as part of the City’s live music season highlighted by the Parks and Recreation Department’s Music in the Park Series. The popular Music in the Park Series features performances by local, regional and national acts each Sunday through the end of August. Murderous Reads Mystery Book Series Continues

The Las Cruces Public Library's Murderous Reads Mystery Book Series continues July 17 with discussion of author Steven F. Havill's "Posadas County" collection.

Murderous Reads, a group discussion of books from a different mystery series each month, meets at 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. The group meets in the second-floor conference room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. Participants can also join the discussion via Zoom.

The July 17 Murderous Reads discussion will focus on the Posadas County series by Steven F. Havill. In August, the group will delve into Rex Stout’s "Nero Wolfe" series. Other Murderous Reads discussions will examine Kathy Reichs' "Temperance Brennan" series in September and J.J. Dupuis' "Creature X" in October. Zoom information and titles in each series are available online.

Participants can read some or all of the books in the series. Because the focus of the group discussion is the series, participants tend to gain more from the discussions when they have a broader knowledge of the entire series.

For more information, contact Librarian Deanna Duffy at 575-528-4005 or via email at dduffy@las-cruces.org.
