The White Sands Missile Range Museum is hosting a grand reopening ceremony to celebrate the recently completed renovations.
The grand reopening will take place 9 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at at the White Sands Missile Range Museum (near the Las Cruces gate). The event is free and open to the public.
For two years the museum underwent renovations including the installation of a new permanent exhibit and it is now opening its doors to the public once again. While closed, the Museum continued to modify and adjust exhibits and content including migrating the archival holdings into a new Archival Research Center.
Guests will also experience an interactive Science Technology Engineering Mathematics Center tailored to grade school educational standards. The exhibit has twice as much text than other larger museums due to the nature of the topics covered, such as how rockets work and nuclear fission.
