Silver City Gay Pride returns Saturday. Sept. 9

Posted

With a new leadership team and the wisdom and experience of Ted Tufares, past Pride event coordinator still on board, LGBTQ Grant County will stage an inclusive, intergenerational Pride festival that celebrates the best the Silver City community has to offer.

Silver City Pride is a family-friendly event, and will happen Saturday, Sept. 9, all day in Gough Park, located at 1200 N. Pope Street in Silver City. Talented entertainers, supportive local business vendors and sponsors, New Mexico LGBTQ history & culture exhibits, Silver City’s famous Doggy Drag Show and so much more will all be back by popular demand.

The Pride organizing committee needs volunteers to plan and run the main event. One priority is to find three self-starters to serve as the Fundraising & Sponsorship Coordinator, the Marketing & Advertising Coordinator, and the Entertainment Coordinator.  Pride is looking for individuals with leadership ability and skill in any of these areas. There is a meeting on at ar 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 17  at Little Toad Creek, 200 N Bullard Blvd in Silver City for a volunteer kickoff event.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to support these coordinators is also invited to the meeting.

If you can’t make the meeting and would still like to be involved, please email event co-chairs Cyril Nalty at clnalty@gmail.com or Stacy Sollisch at silvercitystacy@gmail.com for job descriptions and more information.
