Traveling monk returns to Wellspring Church for March 12 satsang

Posted

Brian Lottman, a traveling monk, will host a “satsang” 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Wellspring Church, 140 W. Taylor Road.

Satsang is a Sanskrit word that essentially means a group gathering to seek truth.

Wellspring described Lottman’s program as a way to “Tune in to the spiritual presence and touch the transcendental soul.”

Guided meditations and mantras during the program can “awaken deeper realization,” Wellspring said.

Lottman has held hundreds of satsangs at yoga studios, churches and spiritual centers throughout the United States and Canada, Wellspring said.

The event is open to everyone.

The requested donation is $20-$30.

Wellspring Church celebrated its 21st anniversary last October. It was founded by Rev. Sam Ritchey and “45 excited people from the Las Cruces New Thought/Science of Mind community,” the church said. It began holding Sunday service in The Arc of Life Center on Griggs Avenue, then bought property and moved to its permanent home on Taylor Road, which is also known as County Road 243. Ritchey retired in 2015.
