This photo was taken on 5/12/21 atop Tortugas Mt. The Echinocereus stramineus (aka haystack cactus and strawberry cactus) hit their blooming peak that day. Hundreds of these plants, often mounding 3’ in diameter, put on a spectacular display.

This photo features a mating pair of Texas horned lizards, was taken on 5/7/20 at the Baylor Canyon trailhead. This pair posed for about 30 minutes. To get a good close up, you have to be willing to lie down in cattle poop and shoot them from every angle.
