Public input sought for redevelopment zone

Residents will have a chance to give input on a redevelopment area plan through a two-day interactive design workshop, the city announced in a news release.

The focus is the El Paseo Road and S. Solano Drive Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plan, a designated zone “where revitalization efforts are concentrated to address challenges like outdated infrastructure and economic stagnation,” the city stated. “These areas bring together government agencies, private stakeholders and local communities to foster innovation, attract investment and enhance the quality of life.”

The city emphasized the importance of public input in the process in making redevelopment “more responsive, equitable and reflective of the diverse needs of the community.”

The workshop takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, Sept. 9 and 11, at the Real Life Church, 1040 El Paseo Road. More information is available via 575-528-3048 or jcotoia@lascruces.gov.
