Elaine Fox Pitts, 57, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, peacefully in her home. Elaine was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 14, 1966 to Christina and Douglas Fox. She had one older brother, Colin Fox. Elaine grew up in Dennistoun, an area of Glasgow, attending Alexandra Parade Primary and White Hill Secondary School. She later went on to study geography at University of Glasgow, before moving to London and studying nursing at Middlesex University London. She became a nurse at the Royal Free in London, meeting her best friend Joan Bosch. Elaine was a lifelong reader and spent much of her free time reading different books. She was a big cat person and had many cats over the course of her life. She also enjoyed traveling, international media such as movies, tv shows and books, learning languages, specifically French and German, and taking walks. While being a nurse, she met her husband, Timothy Cameron Pitts. They got married on December 4, 1996. After getting married, she moved to the United States to Morehead, Kentucky, where Tim was a professor. They welcomed their first daughter, Sarah Catriona Pitts, on August 4, 1999. They soon moved to Erie, Pennsylvania, where they welcomed their second child, Emma Mairi Pitts on September 23, 2003. They moved to Inverness, Florida in 2007, then to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2013. She is survived by her husband, who still resides in Las Cruces, Sarah, who lives in Tampa, Florida, and Emma, who attends Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by her cousins Stephen and Ann Forsyth and her Aunt Catherine, all in Glasgow; as well as her mother-in-law, Ann Pitts, brothers-in-law Rick and Ted Pitts, and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Harro, Patricia Pitts and Susan Pitts; and her brother Colin Fox and sister-in-law Wendy who live in Ireland. She is also survived by many friends all over the world.
