Warm judges and prizes for the Lighted Christmas Parade

The 31st Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. in downtown Silver City.

“The holiday season is approaching and you are invited to participate in Silver City MainStreet’s annual Lighted Christmas Parade," said Evangeline Zamora, board president of Silver City MainStreet. "There is no theme and that allows float makers to get really creative with the guidelines of child appeal, lighting, and originality. We look forward to seeing what groups and businesses design,"

This year, thanks to James Marin of Chente’s Taqueria, the parade judges will be warm and cozy inside the restaurant.

“The restaurant is elevated above the street and will give the judges a great view of the parade. The judges have always been out in the cold with frozen fingers judging the parade, so we are grateful to offer them a warm space this year.” Raul Turrietta will be in front of Chente’s to announce the entries as only he can.

"We like to think of this time as a special holiday gift for the children of Grant County," Brenda Tozier said. "Please help us make this an even more magical parade by dreaming up your own wonderful, creative entry. Let’s keep the magic alive!”

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City that is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website, www.silvercitymainstreet.com to learn more.
