‘Symbols of New Mexico’ artist talk with Victoria Chick

Victoria Chick will provide an artist talk and gallery walkthrough of her solo exhibition “Symbols of New Mexico: A Personal Experience” at 5 p.m. Friday, September 2.The exhibition is on display at Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main St., through September 24 and features a series of 10, large-scale paintings that explores New Mexico’s open spaces, diverse plants and animals, and brilliant sunshine.Ms. Chick is a painter and printmaker who is an active art collector. She has served as an instructor of life drawing, painting, and art history at several colleges. Her artwork is found in galleries and museums across several states.Currently, she is actively involved in working for the establishment of the Southwest Regional Museum of Art and Art Center in Silver City, N.M.The Las Cruces Museums follow all guidelines set by the New Mexico Department of Health and the New Mexico Governor's office for COVID safe practices.The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N.
