Romance at the Rotunda is back in 2025

“Romance at the Rotunda” will return in 2025 this coming Valentine’s Day, according to a news release from the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office. 

The now-annual tradition features a spree of marriages at the Doña Ana County Government Center on Feb. 14. Chief Deputy County Clerk Caroline Zamora and Deputy Clerk Brandi Delgado will officiate the weddings. Administrative assistant April Sosa and Elections Coordinator Karen Hernandez will also officiate. 

This year, the clerk’s office is also looking for couples who want to share their love story on the clerk’s podcast, Preserving History and Democracy. A news release said selected couples will be interviewed on the day of the ceremony to share their love stories. For more information on the podcast, visit: sites.libsyn.com/477012/.

For couples wishing to tie the knot, the clerk’s office asked for these steps to be followed beforehand:

1. Schedule an appointment: Call the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office at 575-647-7421 to schedule your marriage application appointment. If participating in “Romance at the Rotunda,” you’ll also schedule a ceremony time slot.
2. Attend your appointment: Both applicants must be present in person at the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office to finalize the application. Bring valid IDs to the appointment.
3. Check in on Valentine’s Day: Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled ceremony time to check in at the designated area near the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office.
4. Ceremony: Exchange vows in a heartfelt ceremony officiated by one of the event’s officiants.
5. Post-ceremony filing: Return the signed marriage license to the check-in table for recording and filing by Clerk’s Office staff.

The wedding ceremony is free, but all marriage licenses require a $25 fee. The clerk’s office said couples are welcome to bring bouquets, veils, rings, personalized vows, cameras and other sentimental items. The ceremony can also be conducted in Spanish upon request.
