Personal finances lecture, poetry workshop, live music and poetry coming up

Las Cruces poet and musician Liz Liano (Lizard Glitter Productions) has organized four local events in January and February, including a personal finances lecture, a poetry workshop and two musical and poetry (one including comedians) performances.

Here are the events:

  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, Poetry Workshop, Downtown Blues Coffee, 130 S. Main St. 575-523-8828.
  • 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21: How Do You Adult? lecture with a guest speaker from the financial community. The presentation will include how to make a budget and what a credit score is. Woody’s Gallery, 309 E. Organ Ave. 575-621-2330.
  • 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28: A Night of Music and Poetry. Poetry; Richie, Lizard King, Brittany, Alain, Saul; music: Isaac Arellano, Christian Chesanek. Woody’s Gallery, 309 Organ Ave. 575-621-2330.
  • 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11: Poetry (Peter-Tetteh, Esperanza, Lizard King), Comedy (Brianna Chavez Chacon and America Breceda) and Music (Cowboy Baby, Lizard King, Taylor Paul, Yeehaw). This event is a fundraiser for NAMI of Southern New Mexico. Art Obscura, 3206 Harrelson St. 575-494-7256.

The charge for each event is $5. Snacks will be served at each event.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Southern New Mexico is a Las Cruces-based nonprofit dedicated to education, support and advocacy for mental health.
