His more recent contributions include the visually stunning, Academy Award nominee for Best Visual Effects, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” (2024), and work on the highly anticipated upcoming “Minecraft Movie.” His leadership roles at renowned VFX houses like Halon Entertainment have cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking force in visual effects and post-production management.

“The landscape of filmmaking is shifting, presenting exciting opportunities outside of traditional centers like Los Angeles,” stated Chen. “Todd and the 828 Productions team have built something truly special with 300 Post here in Las Cruces. I’m confident this venture will not only significantly boost the local creative economy but also pioneer new innovations in post-production workflows.”

300 Post professes commitment to cultivating regional talent, actively recruiting and collaborating with graduates from New Mexico State University (NMSU) and Doña Ana Community College (DACC). These emerging professionals are trained to be proficient in industry-standard tools like Adobe Premiere and After Effects and are actively engaging with advancements in artificial intelligence for post-production. The studio is hopeful that Chen’s appointment will provide invaluable mentorship and structural expertise to amplify the team’s capabilities and prepare them for high-caliber projects.

According to 828 Productions, the global post-production sector is experiencing remarkable growth, projected to more than double its market value from $22 billion in 2021 to an estimated $46.5 billion by 2031.
