DACC to show films for Hispanic Heritage month

The public is invited to attend free showings of several movies at the Doña Ana Community College (DACC)’s Library in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month.

The movies are part of the Kanopy Film showing happening every Thursday beginning Sept. 15 to Oct. 13 at the DACC East Mesa Library, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd. Kanopy is a unique film and documentary database used by the DACC Library. The films shown will relate to the history of Hispanic Heritage Month in fiction and non-fiction formats.

Films shown will be:

  • Cows Wearing Glasses: Las Vacas Con Gafas – Sept. 15
  • Critical Thinking – Sept. 22
  • Corpus: A Home Movie for Selena – Sept. 29
  • Discover Latino History & The Latino Influence on the United States – Oct. 6
  • No Place to Grow – Oct. 13

According to Hispanicheritagemonth.gov, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The month recognizes the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.
