Chiricahua Apache Plaza grand opening at Akela Flats

Chiricahua Apache Plaza, about 40 miles due west of Las Cruces on Interstate 10 will have a grand opening 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, the property owner said in a news release.

The brand-new plaza is west of Bowlin’s Akela Flats.

The plaza provides fuel, food and “all of the amenities needed for long-haul truckers and highway travelers looking for a one-stop shop to fill up and freshen up,” the news release said. The facility is open 24-7 and includes “a trucker’s lounge with showers and laundry, a café, a convenience store, a smoke shop, ATM service and Valero unleaded and diesel fuels with four lanes for big rigs and separate automobile islands with eight pumps and 16 sides.
