Celebrating libraries at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library

A mini-art show up at the library

Posted

National Library Week is celebrated each year in early April. This year, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., held weeklong events, April 3-6. The week featured a Mini Art Show where patrons of all ages were able to pick up 3-inch mini art canvases to create their work on.

This show is still up at the library and features many lovely and creative pieces.

National Library Week is a great reminder of all the wonderful things that libraries bring to communities. According to the American Library Association, “the theme for National Library Week 2022, ‘Connect with Your Library,’ promotes the idea that libraries are places to not only get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources, but is also a place where people can connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes – in addition to books.

Most importantly, libraries also connect communities. Overall, the theme is an explicit call to action – an invitation for communities to join, visit, or advocate for their local libraries.” The community is encouraged to visit the library, follow us on social media, and include the hashtag #mylibrary in your social media posts.
