Azúcar Jazz Combo to play at Alma d’Arte

The Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Society will open 2025 with a performance by the Azúcar Jazz Combo at Alma d’Arte Charter High School.

On Jan. 19, the society will hold its monthly meeting with a dessert social and a business update before the band plays at 3:30 p.m., according to a news release.

“Azúcar’s performances run the gamut of musical repertoire, from salsa and jazz to pop ballads and international music,” the society stated. The ensemble includes Fernando Lechuga on piano; Juan Lechuga on bass and lead vocals; Adriana Lopez on lead vocals; and Angel Jimenez on drums.

The society’s monthly meetings are open to the public, at $5 for society members, $10 for non-members and $2 for students. The society also hosts free monthly jam sessions. Further information about the society is available online at MVJazzBlues.net.

Alma d’Arte Charter High School is located at 402 W. Court Avenue in Las Cruces.
