A Children’s Theatre presents ‘Orphan Trains’ April 29-30

A Children’s Theatre of the Mesilla Valley (ACT) will present both school and public performances of “Orphan Trains,” by Deborah Craig. The production is directed by Luis Castro and Jenna DerrGuitar.

Public performances are 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Organ Mountain High School Performing Arts Center, 5700 Mesa Grande Drive.

​Tickets are $8 online and $10 at the door. Streaming tickets are $10 for individuals and $30 for families.

Performances for Las Cruces Public Schools students are at 9:45 a.m. and noon Friday, April 29 at Rio Grande Theatre.

Summer camp and summer performance

ACT is also tentatively planning to begin its 2022 summer theater camp May 31. This year’s production will be “The Untold Story of Rose Red,” by Alaska Reece Vance, directed by Kai Alberson and Jenna DerrGuitar, at ACT, 1206 E. Idaho Ave.

ACT’s Summer Performance Weekend will be Friday and Saturday, June 24-25 at Rio Grande Theatre, 212 N. Main St. Downtown.
