"Chalk Walk” comes to the museum

The Las Cruces Museum of Art, 491 N. Main Street, hosts the second annual “Chalk Walk” event from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The free event features guest artists in the museum’s courtyard, including Christopher Barney, Coy Lowther, Emma Henderson, Jennifer Craig, David Sorensen, Erika Bermudez (DomiErikato), Citlali Delgado and Lorenzo Zepeda.

Per a news release from the city, there will be activities suitable for all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. such as a community mural, oversized chalk stick drawing on the pavement and take-home kits for making chalk. The public will also have a chance to vote on their favorite courtyard art piece.

The Museum of Art’s hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The museum is accessible from RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1, Stop 32.
